The city of Aden witnessed, on Saturday morning, December 20, 2025, the inauguration and official launch ceremony of the Aden Center for Strategic Studies, in a distinguished scientific and intellectual event attended by a large number of officials, academic researchers, specialists, and an elite group of individuals interested in research, knowledge, and strategic studies, in addition to media an community figures.
The inauguration ceremony opened with a welcoming speech delivered by the President of the Aden Center for Strategic Studies, Dr. Adeel Al-Tuhaish, in which he welcomed the guests and attendees and presented an overview of the Center, its objectives, and its vision to contribute to the production of rigorous strategic studies, support decision-makers, and enhance scientific research and objective analysis of current issues at the local, regional, and international levels.
The ceremony also featured an introductory presentation highlighting the establishment of the Center, its significance, its fields of research, and its scientific activities, as well as an introduction to the Center’s local and international research team. The presentation included brief remarks from a number of international researchers participating with the Center, namely Professor Susilawati Bint Qasim, Professor Arafat Al-Daqam, Professor Walter Ajambang, and Dr. Kalim Salim, who expressed the importance of the Center and its expected role in enriching the research landscape and strategic studies.
His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zawari, delivered a speech during the event in which he welcomed the attendees and praised the efforts of the Center’s leadership, stressing the importance of establishing such specialized research institutions and their role in enhancing knowledge, supporting development pathways and decision-making processes, and building effective partnerships with academic and research institutions.
The Aden Center for Strategic Studies is an independent research institution concerned with preparing specialized studies and research that keep pace with developments at the local, regional, and international levels. The Center aims to become a reliable scientific platform and a key source of support for decision-makers, researchers, and the public by providing in-depth analyses and strategic insights based on sound scientific and objective foundations.
The Center covers a wide range of research areas, including political and economic studies, military and security issues, environment and climate, energy, sustainable development, and food security, in addition to science and technology. This contributes to formulating practical solutions to current challenges, promoting scientific dialogue, and building research partnerships with local, regional, and international think tanks and research centers.
The event concluded by emphasizing the official launch of the Center to commence its research activities and to open new horizons for cooperation with universities, research institutions, and think tanks at the local, regional, and international levels.
